Campbell-Brown headlines 22 J'cans to compete in New York

Jamaica’s World and Olympic champion Veronica Campbell-Brown, is among 22 Jamaicans on the provisional entry lists for the third meeting of the 2013 season of the IAAF Diamond League in New York tomorrow.

The 30-year-old Campbell-Brown is listed to compete in the women’s 200 metres, her second trip over the distance this season.

Campbell-Brown was beaten into second place by American 400-metre specialist Natasha Hastings at the inaugural Chris Brown Invitational in the Bahamas last month.

She clocked 23.18, while Hastings won in a time of 23.13.

Campbell-Brown will be joined by her Jamaican teammates Anneisha McLaughlin and Sherone Simpson.

London 2012 Olympic 200-metre bronze medallist Jamaica’s Warren Weir is also down to compete.

Weir will run in the men’s 200 metres, which also features two other Jamaicans. They are – Ramone McKenzie and Mario Forsythe.

The men’s 100 metre-dash features six Jamaicans. They are Nickel Ashmeade, Kemar Bailey-Cole, Nesta Carter, Jacques Harvey and Kevin Thompson.
