Two persons have succumbed to injuries they received in separate motor vehicle accidents.

They are 16-year-old Rodrica Young of Norwood, St James, and 31-year-old contractor Richard James of Petersfield, Westmoreland.

The Coral Gardens Police report that Young was among a group of persons crab hunting along the roadway shortly after 11 o’clock last night when a motorcar allegedly ran into them.

The teen and a man identified only as ‘Bruce’ sustained injuries and were taken to hospital where she died and the man admitted in serious condition.

The driver of the vehicle, whose identity is being withheld pending further investigations, was taken into custody and has since been warned for prosecution.

The Constabulary Communication Network says James succumbed to injuries he sustained in a collision on Wednesday.

According to the Whithorn Police, James was driving his motor cycle towards Savanna-la-Mar when he swerved to avoid a collision with a motor truck and crashed into a retaining wall.
