Constant Spring bridge reopened

The western bridge spanning the Sandy Gully in the vicinity of Market Place, St Andrew has been reopened.

The bridge was closed a week ago for emergency repairs to be done to the Expansion Joints that had become loose.

The work was initially expected to take three weeks.

Manager for Communication and Customer Services at the National Works Agency, Stephen Shaw says the repairs were completed on Saturday.

The reopening of the road means motorists will now be allowed to use the western bridge to head north along Eastwood Park Avenue, towards Dunrobin and the eastern bridge will once again facilitate three lanes of traffic heading towards Half-Way Tree.

Shaw says the section of the median that was removed to facilitate the traffic changes will be re-installed during this week.
