NCB workers back to work today

Published:Tuesday | May 28, 2013 | 7:59 AM

Employees of the National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCB) are to resume normal duties this morning after taking industrial action yesterday.

The approximately 1,900 workers took industrial action to press their demand for a salary increase.

The employees have rejected an offer of five per cent.

The parties were called to an emergency meeting at the labour ministry to discuss the matter and following the talks a back to work order was issued for the workers.

The management of NCB and the employee representatives are to continue their talks at the ministry tomorrow.

The labour ministry said there should be no victimisation by the workers or management.
