FOOTBALL: Fernando Torres in Spain squad for Confederations Cup
Out-of-favour Spain striker Fernando Torres has been named in his country's provisional Confederations Cup squad.
The 29-year-old Chelsea striker, who won the Europa League with the London club this season, had failed to make Spain coach Vicente del Bosque's recent squads.
Eight other English-based players have been selected, with the 26-strong party being reduced to 23 before the start of the tournament in Brazil on June 15.
Barcelona's Carles Puyol and Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo miss out.
