A Trelawny woman remains in police custody this morning in relation to the gruesome murder of a four-year-old girl in the parish yesterday.

The child Natasha Brown of Duanvale, Trelawny who had left for school yesterday but did not arrive home, was found dead in a sinkhole in the community.

Reports suggest that the woman may have killed Natasha in an area of the parish called Shirley Hill where people reported seeing her in the company of the child.

Community members allege that she was later seen carrying a crocus bag with contents which may have been the child.

She reportedly told people who enquired that she was carrying a pig.

However, under intense interrogation by the police late yesterday afternoon she broke down and directed them to Natasha’s body.

Up to late last night the body of the child could not be removed because of the narrowness of the sinkhole which did not allow for an adult to go in.
