The Moneague Police in St Ann have taken three men in custody in relation to a car stealing ring which was uncovered on Monday.

The police say during an operation in the bushes in the bauxite mining area near Faith’s Pen, they recovered more than 20 stolen motor vehicles, some stripped, along with several mechanical and body parts.

The motor vehicles include cars and SUVs.

Three men, a mechanic, a body repair man and a loss adjuster, were taken into custody and are being questioned.

Monday’s discovery followed the recovery of several other stolen motor vehicles and parts between April and May.

The police say they have received complaints from private motor car renters who say their vehicles are being rented and not being returned.

One such vehicle, a red Suzuki Swift motorcar, was found in the possession of the three men that are in custody.

The men are expected to be charged shortly.
