The Police Sergeant implicated in the rape of a medical doctor was offered bail when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s court this morning.
Oniel Patterson, who is the reigning LASCO Top Cop, was offered bail in the sum of $300,000 with surety.
He’s to return to court on July 9 for a preliminary enquiry.
In making the bail application Attorney-at-Law, Tamika Harris, said Patterson was not a flight risk, would not interfere with the witness and would not jeopardise his reputation.
Patterson was charged following a ruling by the Director of Public Prosecutions.
It’s alleged that on May 23, Sergeant Patterson had sex with the doctor against her will in his motorcar on the Elleston Road Police Station compound.
