Parchment posts new national record

Olympic bronze medal winner Hansle Parchment posted a new national record of 13.05 seconds to win the 110-metre hurdles at the IAAF Diamond League Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon today.



Parchment, the previous national record holder with 13.12 seconds, won ahead of fast-rising Cuban Orlando Ortega and the American David Oliver.



Jamaican Olympian Andrew Riley was fifth in a season's best 13.20 seconds.



Meanwhile in the women's 100-metres, Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce continued her good form this year, winning in 10.71 seconds.



Nigerian Blessing Okagbare was second in 10.75 with another Jamaican, Veronica Campbell-Brown third in 10.78.



Another Jamaican Nickel Ashmeade took the 200-metres race in 20.14, ahead World Championships silver medallist American Walter Dix.
