BASKETBALL: Jamaica, Canada to play opening game of FIBA Championships

Jamaica and Canada will contest the opening game of the 2013 International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Americas Championships in Caracas, Venezuela on August 30.



The game is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.



Also on the opening day – Argentina will play Paraguay, Puerto Rico will tackle Brazil while Venezuela and Mexico will face off.



Jamaica will also play Uruguay on August 31, Puerto Rico on September 2 and, Brazil on September 3.



The 2013 FIBA Americas Championship qualifies the teams finishing in the top four positions to the 2014 FIBA World Cup to be played in Spain.
