The Labour Minister Derrick Kellier says Jamaica's industrial relation climate has remained relatively calm.

According to Kellier, last year, the labour ministry received 289 reports of disputes.

He said of that number 199 or 69 per cent were resolved.

While not giving figures, the labour minister said work stoppages declined by 40 per cent.

He says the figures indicate that Jamaican workers are operating in a robust and mature industrial relation environment.
