FOOTBALL: Reggae Boyz to arrive in Honduras today

Published:Monday | June 10, 2013 | 8:34 AM

Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz are scheduled to arrive in Honduras from the USA today for their third CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying game in eight days.

The Jamaica, Honduras game will take place tomorrow in Tegucigalpa.

Both teams need a victory to keep their Brazil 2014 World Cup hopes alive.

Jamaica will enter the match rooted at the bottom of the six-team points’ table after losing two home games against Mexico and the USA inside four days.

The Reggae Boyz have only tallied two points from five games, two ahead of Honduras on four.

However, Honduras, who lost 1-0 away to Costa Rica on Friday, are in a far better position having played four games.

The six countries are competing for three automatic places in the FIFA World Cup finals at Brazil 2014.

Three teams are now locked atop the table on seven points.

They are Costa Rica, the United States and Mexico.

Panama are a point behind the leaders on six.
