Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Arnold Nicholson, never intended to downplay the challenges that have been experienced by Jamaican businesses from non-tariff barriers and other impediments which have prevented Jamaican goods from entering some markets, the foreign ministry said Monday.

There can be no doubt, the ministry said, that Nicholson is sensitive to the concerns and “has been a staunch defender of the interests of the private sector in Jamaica”.

Nicholson is currently on official business in Brazil, accompanied by representatives of Jampro and the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, to promote investment opportunities in Jamaica.
