BOXING: Top ranked Moncrieffe, Riettie face off in Contender semis

The second semi-final bout of the 2013 Wray & Nephew Middleweight Contender Series takes place tonight at the Chinese Benevolent Association auditorium.



The eight-round semi-final bout features top ranked Devon 'Concrete' Moncrieffe against Canada-based Richard Riettie, who is the number 4 seed.



The action starts at 8.30 in the evening with two amateur bouts and the main event gets underway at 9.30.



The winner of tonight’s semi-final bout will meet Tsetsi Davis in the final.



Davis easily won a unanimous decision over Ramel ‘Sub Zero’ Lewis in the first semi-final last week.



Sixteen boxers started the series on March 7.



The remainders are vying for the Wray & Nephew Middleweight Contender title and a first prize of a million dollar.



The runner-up in the competition gets $500,000, third place $250,000 and fourth $200,000.
