A post mortem has revealed that the baby whose body was found in a pit latrine in Stetin, Trelawny on May 30 died from a stab wound.
As a result, the baby’s mother and grandmother will now be charged with infanticide.
They had previously been charged with concealing the death of a child while a 23-year-old man was charged with carnal abuse for impregnating the underage girl.
The two women were scheduled to return to court yesterday but the case was put off based on the latest developments.
Bail in the sum of $50,000 was also revoked for the baby’s mother and grandmother.
A new court date has not yet been set.
