FOOTBALL: PLCA against JFF to sack Whitmore

Published:Thursday | June 13, 2013 | 9:07 AM

The Premier League Clubs’ Association (PLCA) says the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) has made a wrong decision to change the head coach of the national senior team.

Chairman of the PLCA Edward Seaga says the JFF should allow Theodore Whitmore to finish the programme with only four games to go in the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier.

Seaga says the JFF has ignored calls by the PLCA to set up a programme with a specialised coach to train strikers.

The former Prime Minister noted that the Reggae Boyz have only scored two goals in six matches.

He says this speaks loudly to the JFF’s shortsighted nature of the coaching programme.

Seaga says there is no strategy in effect to deal with plays in the goal area.
