National 400-metre runner Dominique Blake has been banned from athletics for six years by the Disciplinary Panel of the Jamaica Anti-Doping Panel.

The panel handed down its sentence at 10:30 this morning at the Jamaica Conference Centre.

The 25-year-old Blake tested positive for Methylhexanamine at the National Senior Trials last June.

Blake was a member of Jamaica’s squad at the London 2012 Olympics having qualified as part of the 4x400-metre relay team but she did not run.

Last November, former Jamaican relay world champion Steve Mullings was banned for life from competing in athletics after a second doping offense.
