Grenada's Gov't creates 'new economy' under IMF recommendations

The Grenada government says it has started the restructuring of the local economy with recommendations from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).



However, Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell, told citizens that the assistance of the Washington-based financial institution is being accepted with the clear direction that any programme must have growth and job creation as its fundamental focus.



Prime Minister Mitchell said the government has already started to revamp the ailing economy, insisting that the new economy requires that government puts its fiscal house in order.
