Sri Lanka have secured the final Champions Trophy semi-final spot after ousting defending champions Australia by 20 runs at The Oval in England.

Australia, who had to win and reach the 254-run target inside 29.1 overs in order to qualify, were bowled out for 233 in 42.3 overs.

Adam Voges top scored for Australia with 49, while Glenn Maxwell supported with 32 and Matthew Wade 31.

A last-wicket stand of 41 between Clint McKay, 30, and Xavier Doherty, 15 not out, almost took the Australians home.

Sri Lanka will play on Thursday in the second semifinal in Cardiff, Wales.
