A new technical director and a new national head coach have been appointed to the Trinidad and Tobago football team going into Gold Cup tournament in the United States.

Former Real Madrid, Netherlands and T&T coach Leo Beenhakker is the new technical director, while former Canada national team coach Stephen Hart is the new head coach.

Beenhakker, who guided the Soca Warriors through World Cup qualification and the final round of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, is expected to accompany the team to the USA as part of the T&T delegation.

Hart is a Trinidad and Tobago native who began his playing career in T&T and built his post-playing career in Canada through the Canadian Soccer Association.

Hart will be contracted for two years, while the T&T Football Association is still engaged with Beenhakker in finalising the length of his service.

T&T will open their Gold Cup campaign against El Salvador at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey on July 8.
