Two three-bedroom houses damaged by fire

Two houses were damaged by fire yesterday, one in Pondside district, Yallas, St Thomas and the other in Orange Hill district, Brown’s Town, St Ann.



The Brown’s Town Police report that about 11 a.m., the owner of a three-bedroom concrete house was alerted by neighbours that his house was on fire.



The Police were summoned and two units from the Brown’s Town Fire Department arrived and extinguished the blaze.



An estimate of the damage has not been ascertained and the house was not insured.



The Yallahs Police report that about 8:10 a.m., the owner of a three-bedroom concrete house discovered flames coming from the front of the building then called the Police.



The Yallahs Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.



Damage is estimated to be $3.5 million.



The house was not insured.
