Members of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) will know by July 2, who will be president of the association for the 2014-2015 period.
Voting ended on Friday, in what is deemed the most controversial elections for the teachers' union in recent years.
Five candidates are battling for the right to represent one of the most powerful public sector unions.
They include Anne Geddes-Nelson, Francis Malcolm and Stevie Williams.
Also vying for president are Winnie Anderson Brown and former president Doran Dixon.
Current president, Clayton Hall, will step down in August and Dr Mark Nicely will take over as president for the 2013-2014 period.
