An emergency meeting has been called for this afternoon between representatives from Scotia Investments Jamaica Limited and the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union (BITU).

The emergency conciliatory meeting is scheduled to take place at the Ministry of Labour at 1 p.m.

The meeting follows the issuing of a 72-hour notice by the union to Scotia Investments Jamaica Limited and the Ministry about possible industrial action.

In a statement this morning, the Labour Ministry said it is prepared to work with all parties to arrive at an amicable resolution of matters in dispute.
