Traffic changes in St James for NWA repairs

Published:Saturday | June 29, 2013 | 7:17 AM

The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists and pedestrians that the John’s Hall main road in St James in the vicinity of the Bailey Bridge will be temporarily closed between 10 and noon today.

The NWA says the temporary closure of the roadway is to facilitate crane operations to launch and install the girders of the new bridge.

The alternative routes during the period of closure for motorists travelling from the direction of Montego Bay are through Granville to John’s Hall and beyond.

Motorists travelling from the direction of Maroon Town or John’s Hall towards Montego Bay should turn left at Hampton, onto the Granville main road then onto Montego Bay.

The NWA says flag persons will be placed at the Granville and Hampton detours to guide motorists.
