The National Water Commission (NWC) says effort is being made to have water restored to residents in White House and Ewarton in St Catherine who have been without their regular supply for some time.

The NWC says it acknowledges that the water being trucked to the area is inadequate.

It is seeking to assure that every effort is being made to distribute supplies more equitably.

The water company also says work is now being carried out on its pump facility which supplies the communities.

The facility has been out of operation because of mechanical problems.
