DONETSK, Ukraine:

All 36 members of Jamaica's delegation to the IAAF World Youth Championships in Donetsk have finally arrived in the Ukrainian city, less than two days before the start of competition.

The Jamaicans suffered a major setback last week when visa issues coupled with difficulties in securing flights, caused the delay of the team's arrival here, while raising concerns about athletes competing, while still jet-lagged with little opportunity for climatisation ahead of the July 10-14 championships.

Team manager Ewan Scott confirmed that five athletes and one official touched down in Donetsk at about 1 p.m. (5 a.m. Jamaica time), this after assistant coach Keilando Goburn and another six athletes' arrival yesterday.
