A 12-member jury has been selected for the murder trial of dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel.

Lenburgh McDonald and Nigel Thompson are jointly charged with the entertainer.

All three men are accused of the July 2011 shooting death of St Catherine businessman Barrington ‘Bossy’ Burton.

Presiding judge Justice Bryan Sykes says the court will begin hearing evidence on Monday.

Justice Sykes told the jurors that they are required to be impartial and keep an open mind until all the evidence is heard.

He further told them that they should disregard whatever they have heard or read in the public domain in relation to the case.

Justice Sykes instructed the jurors to avoid speaking to anyone about the case adding that if someone tries to get to them to talk they should report the matter to the police.
