US Attorney General, Eric Holder has said investigations will continue into the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

However, the White House says President Barack Obama would not involve himself in the justice department's decision on pursuing civil procedures against George Zimmerman.

The 29-year-old former neighbourhood watch volunteer, Zimmerman, was found not guilty on Saturday for second degree murder and manslaughter.

Demonstrations are being planned for next Saturday in front of federal buildings in up to 100 cities across the US.

Civil rights leader and broadcaster Reverend AL Sharpton is organising the demonstrations.
