The four men held in connection with the shooting death of Detective Corporal Alphonso Gassop, have now retained lawyers and are to be questioned by investigators this week.

The policeman was shot dead while walking to his home in the Sunrise Crescent community, in St Andrew on July 1.

The accused killers have been in police custody for more than two weeks.

They were held in Half-Way Tree traveling in a Nissan Tiida motor car shortly after the attack on Detective Corporal Gassop.

Investigators from the Major Investigation Task Force, which is leading the investigation, say charges are likely to be laid against the men this week.
