Defence attorneys in the corruption trial of Senior Superintendent James Forbes and businessman Bruce Bicknell today raised concerns about a meeting prosecutors had with a crown witness last Friday.

The concerns were raised after police Corporal Sara Davis testified during cross examination that she met with two prosecutors to discuss aspects of the case that were not in her statement.

Defence attorney Jacqueline Samuels-Brown said while she was not casting any aspersions, the actions of the prosecutors place the accused persons at a disadvantage.

Corporal Davis was the secretary to SSP Forbes at the time he reportedly arranged a meeting with Bicknell and police Sergeants Delon Lewis and Jubert Llewellyn to have a bribery case against Bicknell disposed of.

Corporal Davis testified that she was invited into the meeting by Forbes who asked her to prepare a letter outlining some of the things that were discussed.

Bicknell and Forbes are on trial for attempting to pervert the course of justice arising from allegations that the businessman tried to bribe Llewellyn with two thousand dollars during a traffic stop in April last year.
