Reggae Boyz technical director, U-20 coach resign

The Technical Director of the Jamaica Football Federation, Alfred Montesso and head coach of the National Under 20 team Luciano Gama have resigned from the national programme.

The resignations take effect on Wednesday, July 31.

A release from the JFF says the men will be returning to their homeland Brazil.

Montesso was promoted to technical director in May to fill the position left vacant by the departure of Walter Gama in January.

He had previously held the position of assistant coach to former coach, Theodore Whitmore.

Montesso and Luciano Gama joined the national programme in 2011.

Their resignations come less than a week after German Winfried Schafer was appointed new head coach to replace Whitmore who was sacked after the Reggae Boyz' disappointing 2-nil defeat to Honduras in a crucial CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier in June.
