One of four men who were taken into custody in relation to last Wednesday’s cow theft in Malvern, St Elizabeth was remanded when he appeared in court on Tuesday.

Twenty-four-year-old Donwayne Wright of Ridge Pen district in Watchwell, St Elizabeth, is charged with larceny of cattle.

He and three others were arrested when a police party intercepted a truck in which they were travelling, and found five cows in the back.

Further investigations revealed the cows were stolen from a farmer in the area.

Wright is to reappear before the Black River Resident Magistrate’s Court on August 14.
