Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries Roger Clarke, has expressed satisfaction at the progress of the Agro Parks now in operation.

Three Agro Parks are currently in operation – Plantain Garden in St. Thomas; Amity Hall, St. Catherine; and Ebony Park in Clarendon.

Clarke says most of the challenges at the agro parks have been overcome and attention is now on reaping.

He says markets have been secured for the onions and peppers now under production.

The agriculture minister added that similar effort is being made for sorghum, which is a substitution for imported animal feed.

Clarke led a tour of the three agro parks late last week.

The parks will see the administration facilitating the use of eight thousand acres of land for agricultural production.
