Tourism interests say they are eagerly anticipating today’s Parliamentary announcement by Health Minister Dr Fenton Ferguson on the ban on smoking in public spaces.

President of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association, Evelyn Smith, says there have been several meetings with Ferguson and it is expected that some of their concerns will be addressed.

Tourism stakeholders have expressed concern that the ban on smoking in public spaces will affect the industry.

A task force has been established to explore the likely impact of the ban on the industry.
