US citizen named among three killed in Trelawny crash

A United States (US) citizen is named among the three killed in a major holiday traffic crash on the Braco Main Road in Trelawny late yesterday afternoon.



The dead persons have been identified as Rachel Woodard, 32, of a Philadelphia, US; Javion Stennett, 12, of Whitehouse, Westmoreland; and Yvonne Robertson-Hamilton, 31, of Bogue Village, St James.



The police say, about 5:25 p.m., Woodard was a passenger aboard a Toyota Coaster bus while Stennett and Robertson-Hamilton were aboard a Toyota Tundra truck, which were travelling in opposite directions along the road.



On reaching a section of the roadway, the driver of the truck reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which collided with the bus.



All occupants of both vehicles sustained multiple injuries and were taken to hospital where Woodard, Stennett and Robertson-Hamilton were pronounced dead.



The drivers of both vehicles were admitted in serious condition.
