CRICKET: Gayle's Jamaica Tallawahs launch CPL T20 campaign tonight

Explosive West Indies opener Chris Gayle will be in action tonight when the inaugural Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 continues in Guyana.

Gayle and the Jamaica Tallawahs franchise will launch their campaign against Guyana Amazon Warriors at the Providence Stadium.

Chris Gayle will captain the Jamaica Tallawahs team.

The Jamaica Tallawahs’ line-up also includes young Pakistan opener Ahmed Shehzad, South Africa’s Jacques Rudolph, Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralithan, South African pacer Vernon Philander and discarded West Indies left-arm spinner Nikita Miller.

Also in the line-up are West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell, wicketkeeper Carlton Baugh Jr, Danza Hyatt, Nkrumah Bonner and Andrew Richardson.

West Indies middle-order batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan will captain the Guyana Amazon Warriors.

This will be the second match for Guyana Amazon Warriors.

They opened their campaign on Wednesday night with an 18-run victory over Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel.

West Indies batsman Lendl Simmons, West Indies mystery off-spinner Sunil Narine, Jamaican left-arm seamer Krishmar Santokie, New Zealand top order batsman Martin Guptill and all-rounder James Franklin are in the Amazon’s line-up.
