360-megawatt project: Deadline for entities to submit bids

Today is the deadline for five selected entities to submit their bids to provide additional generating capacity to the national grid.
This is the third deadline given to the entities to make submissions for the 360-megawatt project.
The companies expected to make submissions are Armorview Holdings, Azurest-Cambridge, Energy World International Limited, the Jamaica Public Service Company and Optimal Energy.
The OUR says bids will be opened at its offices this afternoon, shortly after the 3 p.m. deadline.
It’s expected that the successful bidder will begin construction of the plant in January 2014 with its commissioning by January 2016.
