Three houses and a church were shot up by men with high powered weapons in Blenheim district, Newport Manchester this morning.

Police investigators believe the attack was a reprisal for the murder of a man at a dance in the community on Tuesday.

Richard Spence also known as Skibba from Resource, South Manchester was allegedly beaten and stabbed to death by men from Blenheim after he had an altercation with them at the dance.

Head of the Area 3 Police Assistant Commissioner Derrick Knight says no one was injured in the attack.

ACP Knight says the incident has left the usually quiet community tense.

He says the police will be increasing their presence in the area over the next few days in an effort to maintain peace and safety.

The four men remain in custody in relation to Spence’s death.

They are still being questioned by investigators.
