The police say they have identified four men believed to be responsible for the early-morning robbery of six missionaries at a house in Balaclava, St Elizabeth.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Derrick Knight, who heads the Area Three Police, says the six missionaries were held up and robbed of their properties including US and Jamaican currencies.

Knight says a total of 26 missionaries are staying at the house.

The senior cop says a team from the Police Community Safety and Security section has been tasked to visit the house and offer security tips.

He says counselling is also being provided for the missionaries.

It’s reported that the missionaries are guests of the Jamaica Holiness Church.

The Police Area Three comprises Manchester, St Elizabeth and Clarendon.
