Published:Saturday | August 10, 2013 | 9:00 AM

Jamaica's London Olympic Games 200-metre bronze medallist Warren Weir says he is going into the World Championships in better shape than last year.

Weir is the second fastest man this year over the half lap with 19.79.

He says he has performed much better this year compared to last year and as a result is expecting to go higher up the podium.

Weir’s training partner, Usain Bolt - the fastest man on earth - is the big favourite to win gold medal.

The men’s 200-metre dash starts on Friday, August 16 with the heats.
