The Jamaica Customs Department has announced that effective Monday its administration and examination fee for site containers will be increased to $40,000.

This represents an increase of $15,000 on the current fee.

However, the Customs Department says the processing fee for site containers and the examination fee for manufacturers who are importing raw materials will remain unchanged.

Commissioner of Customs Richard Reese informed customs brokers and freight forwarders of the new fee in a letter to the president of their association last week.
