Ministry gets public-private help to repair schools

The Education Ministry says it is collaborating with a number of public and private entities to ensure that schools in need of repairs are ready for the start of the new academic year in just over three weeks.

Education Minister Ronald Thwaites says these initiatives are particularly essential in the parishes that comprise region two, where approximately 30 schools are still in need of renovation.

The schools, which are located in St Thomas, Portland and St Mary, were damaged during the passage of Hurricane Sandy last year.
