NWC says mechanical problems causing St Catherine water disruptions

Published:Saturday | August 10, 2013 | 6:56 PM

The National Water Commission (NWC), is blaming mechanical problems at its White River intake system in St Catherine for the disruption in service to hundreds of residents across several communities in the parish.

Some of the communities that have been affected include Guys Hill, Windsor Castle, Jeffrey Town and Moreland.

According to the NWC, these communities are served by the Guys Hill Water Treatment plant which is supplied from the White River intake system.

The NWC has not given a timeframe when normal service will be restored, but says it is working to have the problem corrected in the shortest possible time.
