Stephanie McPherson finishes fourth in 400m final, Ohuruogu wins

Jamaican quarter-miler Stephanie McPherson just finished out of the medals in the women’s 400-metre final on today’s third day of the IAAF World Championships in Moscow, Russia.




McPherson clocked 49.99 for fourth place, well behind gold medal winner Christine Ohuruogu of Great Britain.



Ohuruogu came from behind to edge out Amantle Montsho of Botswana in a blanket finish. Both athletes were credited with 49.41, a national record for Ohuruogu.



Novlene Williams-Mills of Jamaica was eighth and last in 51.49.
