MOSCOW, Russia:

Juliet Campbell, manager for Olympic 11om hurdles bronze medallist Hansle Parchment confirmed that the athlete had suffered a cramp to his right calf before crashing out of the semi-finals at the IAAF World Championships here.

Parchment hit the last hurdle after being clear in second place behind Jason Richardson in his semi-final and had to be helped off the track.

Campbell told The Gleaner that the athlete is doing better and that a decision will be taken by his coach Fitz Coleman, as it relates to whether or not he will now end his season.

After a great start to the year, which saw him lowering his own national record to 13.05 and going on a three-race mini winning streak, Parchment has had a trouble season after suffering an ankle injury while warming up for the National Championships is June.
