Police name person of interest in JTA fraud

Detectives from the Fraud Squad Division have named an employee of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) as a person of interest.

He is Marlon Francis of Carr Hill, Rock Hall in St. Andrew.

The police say Francis should immediately report to the Fraud Squad at 34 Duke Street, Kingston, preferably with a lawyer.

Francis worked in the accounts department of the JTA.

He is one of four persons who were sent home on vacation leave when a major fraud estimated to be in the region of $100 million was uncovered.

The police say anyone knowing the whereabouts of Marlon Francis is also being asked to contact the Fraud Squad at 924-4121, Police 119 emergency number or the nearest Police Station.
