Teachers not pleased with job fair
Hundreds of teachers who braved the inclement weather to attend the ministry of education’s job fair this morning were not pleased with the ministry’s organisation of the event.
The teachers, who traveled from all over the country to the education ministry Heroes Circle offices for the fair, say they expected more from the event despite the heavy rains.
They were particularly upset with the ministry handling of the registration process for attendance.
They say when they turned up this morning they were informed that registration was closed and they would have to show up another time.
Some of the educators at the fair also expressed cynicism over the fair's ability to provide alternative jobs to those trained teachers seeking employment.
The ministry of education is hosting a two-day job fair between today and tomorrow.
The fair is being held to assist newly trained and unemployed teachers who are having difficulties gaining employment in the education sector.
