Small craft operators urged to be cautious

Small craft operators are being urged to exercise caution when out at sea.

The MET Office has issued a marine warning for operators, especially those in the south of the island, as the island experiences an increase in rainfall.

Duty forecaster Ronald Moody says strong, gusty winds associated with the rains will affect conditions at sea and as such fishermen and other marine interests must be cautious.

He says the rains will continue for the rest of today and into tomorrow.

He says the weather in Jamaica is being influenced by a Trough which is interacting with an area of low pressure across the Central Caribbean.

He says conditions in Jamaica are expected to improve by Thursday.
