CRICKET: Jamaica Tallawahs depart for CPL semi-finals in T&T

The Chris Gayle-led Jamaica Tallawahs franchise will depart today for Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, for the semi-finals of the inaugural Caribbean Premier League Twenty20.



Jamaica Tallawahs will contest the second semi-final on Friday where they will face Barbados Trident.



The Tallawahs earned the right to face Barbados Tridents after finishing the preliminary round in second place.



Barbados Tridents finished in third place.



Guyana Amazon Warriors, who finished atop the points’ table, and fourth place Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel will contest the first semi-final on Thursday.



For the semi-final fixture, former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara is set to link up with the Jamaica Tallawahs.



The elegant 36-year-old left-handed batsman will take over from Pakistan top-order player Ahmed Shezhad, who is leaving to join the Pakistan squad on tour in Zimbabwe.
