Jamaicans are expected to know on Thursday how the country fared in the first quarterly test under the deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

A team from the multilateral lending agency has been reviewing targets for the April to June quarter.

Finance Minister Dr. Peter Phillips has called a press conference for Thursday to update the country on the IMF review.

In May, the board of the IMF approved a US$950 million four-year extended fund facility for Jamaica.

Under the deal, Jamaica is required to undertake, among other things, fiscal consolidation, wage restraint and a reduction in public debt.
